Grand Tamarind Lake- Kataragama

We want to pass a massive thank you to all the staff from the management team, Catering / restaurant, front office and the housekeeping at the Grand Tamarind Lake, Kataragama for the amazing service they have provided during our stay. They went above and beyond to assist us in to a smooth stay. They are so accomodating. Kids Friendly. Nice and Calm place. Food was so delicious and you will never be disappointed. Highly recommended 🇱🇰🇦🇺

A beautiful lake at the backyard of the hotel is its notable feature. Waking g up early morning and listing to the birds, walking along the lake, enjoying the tree house and swings, it's really magical. Having said that, the hotel itself is old and not well maintained. The rooms are big, but the amenities are not well maintained. The dinner served was cold, although the breakfast was ok. With such a lovely location, I request the management to look into maintaining the property well.

The Pinnacle of customer service and hospitality!!!!! I've never seen staff so helpful and friendly and most of the major hotels in srilanka can learn a thing or two from the staff at Grand Tamarind Lake. We arrived about 3 hours earlier than the usual check in time where the staff could have easily turned us away asking to come back at 2pm. But the amazing team at Grand Tamarind Lake quickly attended to our request and gave us our romms within 15 minutes of our arrival. Amazing service!!! The rooms were wonderful and the location is an absolute beauty!!! Had an awesome spread for the breakfast buffet and everything was delicious. Highly recommend!!!!!

We visited this property in Katharagama based on a recommendation, hoping to stay overnight, but unfortunately, no rooms were available at the time. However, we did stop for lunch. As we were in a bit of a rush, the staff were helpful in suggesting meal options that could be prepared quickly, which we appreciated. We ordered the creamy cheese pasta, chicken fried rice, and vegetable fried rice. The food was average overall, nothing particularly exceptional. Notably, the chicken fried rice contained mostly sausages rather than actual chicken, which was a disappointing. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the surrounding area was quite peaceful. The property is located by the lake, which adds a nice, serene atmosphere to the setting.

The environment is calm and eco-friendly, perfect for relaxation. The staff is friendly and always ready to help. The food was delicious, and the service was prompt. Conveniently located close to Kataragama town, making travel easy. Highly recommended!
