Hotel sunil’s – kataragama

Hotel Sunil’s is a welcoming, budget-friendly hotel in Kataragama. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly, and there’s an on-site restaurant plus helpful amenities like an airport shuttle and free parking. A solid choice for travelers looking for comfort and convenience.

When we complain they called some people to scare us .very bad service, the owner is very rude to customers, the workers are arrogant. There are ants everywhere, ants on the bed can’t sleep. No soap no , no tissue , no hot water. Doors are not locking properly. Very unsafe place. Don’t go there .

Wish I read the reviews before booking. Don’t make the same mistake. I called ahead and booked through booking.com and just to reconfirm, called property a little while later. Then they said those rooms and not available. And they didn’t even cancel from their end, they were abusive when called. So had to contact booking.com for help. Don’t book from this hotel they will try and scam money out of you.

We stayed one night and the bed was covered with ants when we came in and the toilet sink was also covered with ants as well then at night we were bitten by soo many ants hardly slept. We called the receptionist at 11:30pm to inform them that there are too many ants in the room and the person came and sprayed ants spray and told us to just turn off the ac and open the window and when there is 6 of us in the room in 30 degree heat. We also asked the person to bring us extra covers because we were only given 2 for a 6 person room there was also no toilet paper. The person said he would be back in five minutes after we asked him to bring new sheets and also asked him to ask his manager for a new room then i went down 15 minutes later because no one turned up and to our a surprise the person has locked up and gone home without helping us. When we were checking out we tried to inform the manager with all the problems we had and his son asked if we have a money problem after we had already paid and they got very rude and then his son called two people to come scare us and when we were driving down the road for like 10 minutes we saw there car chasing us and then they raced past us. The rude manger with an attitude black hair with glasses and the son who was trying to intimidate us was camp looking boy with a bit of a slick back and a big belly. When we went down to order food at night we were given a menu and my family picked all the stuff we wanted but they refused to make certain stuff because it to long to make why give us a menu in the first place i would not recommend this place at all This is a reply to your reply sir you have lied many times in the reply there was no sign saying that eating food in the room was against your policy and we did not even talk to the safari driver we even bought him breakfast and also we walked to the temple sir didn’t take a cab at all so please don't lie about anything or this will go future that it needs to just learn to accept your problems I cant stress enough to anyone reading this to not stay here they are lying and horrible people If there was a policy about not eating food in the room why would there be a fridge in room sir. The safari driver u booked we payed 13000 and the people outside on the morning we were leaving said they payed 10000 so you guys have just pocketed 3000 (scam) we didn’t argue with no cab driver sir because we didn’t take a cab to the temple we took out own car and some of us walked so that is a complete lie. I hope your happy with how u treat people but i would recommend no one to stay here

A useless hotel. Don't be fooled by the photos posted. The owner is not friendly at all. Check the room allocation carefully. It's too good not to go.
